Why DLF The Crest is Gurgaon's most preferred address for expats

Ask a relocation consultant in Gurugram to shortlist three addresses for an incoming expat family and DLF The Crest will almost always be on the list. It is not only the architecture. It is the combination of a Golf Course Road address, a large managed clubhouse, predictable landlords and a resident mix that already feels international from day one.
A location that removes the daily commute problem
The Crest sits on Park Drive in DLF Phase 5, Sector 54, directly off Golf Course Road. Cyber City and Cyber Hub are roughly 8 km away, Sector 54 Chowk Rapid Metro is about 1.5 km, and IGI Airport Terminal 3 is around 20 km. For an executive flying twice a month and driving to an office in DLF Phase 2 or Udyog Vihar, that geography matters more than any single amenity.
The DLF Phase 5 retail spine — supermarkets, pharmacies, clinics, cafés and salons — is within walking or a very short driving distance, which shortens the settling-in period for a family arriving without a car.
An international resident mix already in place
Community estimates put the expatriate population at The Crest at over 200 families, spanning Japanese, Korean, European, American and West Asian households alongside senior Indian corporate tenants. That density has a compounding effect: WhatsApp groups for school carpools, a helper and cook network that already understands different cuisines, festive events at the club that are genuinely mixed, and neighbours who have solved the same paperwork you are about to face.
For a spouse or partner relocating without a job in India, this is often the deciding factor. A social circle exists inside the gate.
Landlords used to corporate and embassy leases
Because so much of the inventory is leased to companies, owners at The Crest are familiar with what expat tenancies require — registered agreements, company-name leases, notarised documents for FRRO registration, longer two to three year terms with structured escalation, and diplomatic clauses where relevant.
- Two to three months' interest-free security deposit is the norm
- 11-month registered leases, or 2–3 year corporate leases with a lock-in
- Bare-shell, semi-furnished and fully furnished options in every configuration
- Maintenance billed per sq ft to the tenant, over and above rent
Schools, hospitals and everything a family checks first
Shri Ram School and Lancers International are within 2–5 km, and Max and Artemis hospitals sit in the 4–8 km band. Most families touring The Crest are simultaneously touring a school; the short drive between the two is what usually closes the decision.
What it costs to rent
Indicative monthly rents run from about ₹1.60 lakh for a 2 BHK and study, ₹2.10–2.85 lakh for a 3 BHK, ₹2.90–4.00 lakh for a 4 BHK, and ₹5 lakh and above for penthouses. Golf-facing and Aravalli-facing units on higher floors carry a premium, and fully furnished homes typically add 10–20%. Availability and final numbers change week to week, so treat these as ranges and confirm before you plan a viewing.
